About Me

A lifelong learner, creator, and explorer.

Millenial Bangalorean

I grew up in a bunch of different places: Bangalore, Madras, Bombay and London for the most part. Of these places, my most formative years were by far in Bangalore where most of my schooling happened. The part and time of the city that I grew up in was at the same time a idealic picture of India and quite removed from the rest of the country. Rather than attempt to express what I understand of being a millenial from Bangalore, I will allow my writings on this website to bring out my experiences and philosophy.

Curiosity and Structure

On the occassions that I have a free moment to get lost in thought, I'm often amazed by just how magical and fascinating the world that we live in is. Curiosity is both a virtue and a luxury, one which I hope to fill more of my life with. My personal bias has for a long time been towards structure and documentation. There is something very satisfying in being able to put the pieces of a puzzle together in a tantalisingly simple and clear structure. This website is an attempt to organise a huge chunk of what I know and want to know in such a clean structure.

IIT-Madras

Insti is where I really spread my wings and grew up to be the thinker, worker and adult that I am today. Many of my fondest and most formative memories are from this hallowed institution. People make a place, and this is where I found the best of them. The computer science department pushed my my thinking, my capabilities and my ability to learn. My election to the post of cultural secretary and my tenure as the head of a massive student organisation profoundly shaped me as a person and a leader. Oh, and college is just awesome.

Reckitt Benckiser

My instant love for 'Principles of Marketing' by Philip Kotler led me to sales and marketing at Reckitt. Between door to door sales in Ludhiana, cleaning toilets in Aurangabad, adventures in Johannesburg and corporate meetings in Gurgaon, this was my introduction to the corporate world. At Reckitt, I was lucky to have a series of mentors who saw and sharpened in me a talent for bringing business and tech together.

IIM-Ahmedabad

If insti is where I grew up, Ahmedabad is where I found my own and settled down. In the enchanting night glow of yellow light against the red brick of old campus, I found my wife, myself and a dream for the rest of my life. I spent the covid years in this splendid bubble, adding to my growing collection of incredible friends. Side effects included an incredible 3 month Europe exchange trip, popular notes which are now a book, and 1 wife.

McKinsey

I doubt I will find another organisation as impactful, omnipresent and awe inspiring as McKinsey. My love for structure, thinking and working with people made consulting my dream job in many ways. McKinsey in my mind is a sort of training dojo, where I was lucky to get a chance to sharpen some of my favourite skills, with some of the best in the world.

Revolut

Revolut seems to me to be my ideal combination of a big vision, committment to create the best product, all the fun of tech and the most comfortable culture. I am happily shocked to learn that one of the most exciting workplaces can also be one of the most people centric.
